Terms of use
Effective September 6, 2026.
These terms apply to the HSA Proof iPhone app, published by Mount Si Labs LLC ("we"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the App Store download.
What HSA Proof is
HSA Proof is recordkeeping software. It stores documents and details you choose to capture and helps you keep a ledger of expenses you may later reimburse from a Health Savings Account.
What it is not
HSA Proof is not an HSA custodian, a bank, a tax preparer, or a source of tax or legal advice. It does not hold or move money, does not file anything on your behalf, and does not determine whether any expense is qualified. The states it shows for an expense ("Likely qualified", "Needs review", "Likely not qualified") are informational assessments from a published rule set that summarizes IRS guidance. They are not a determination by anyone, and they may be incomplete or out of date. Confirm with a tax professional.
What you must check yourself
Text recognition can misread an amount, a date or a name; review the fields the app asks you to confirm before saving. The reimbursement history is your own log and records only what you enter; it cannot show reimbursements made outside the app. Whether an expense was paid, whether it is qualified, whether it was already reimbursed or deducted, and whether your records are sufficient are your responsibility under the rules that apply to your HSA (see IRS Publication 969).
Your records
You keep all rights in the documents and details you store. The app processes them on your device to provide the features described in the privacy policy and for nothing else. You may store a record that concerns another person only if you have the authority to keep it.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, for the security of your device and Apple Account, for keeping backups, and for complying with the rules that apply to your HSA.
Backups and continuity
iCloud sync is a convenience for using more than one device. It is not an independent backup: a record deleted on one device is deleted everywhere. Export is the backup. The Export tab produces a documented, versioned archive you can open without the app. We do not promise that the app will be maintained for any particular period; if it is withdrawn, your records remain on your device and in any export you have made.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mount Si Labs LLC is not liable for lost data, tax consequences, penalties, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
Changes and termination
We may update the app and these terms. Changes are posted at this address with a new effective date; continuing to use the app after that date is acceptance of the change. You may stop using the app at any time; your records remain on your device, and in your iCloud if sync was on, until you delete them.
